Ch. 9 The GOD-Centric Conversation

Theme Song: One Love – Bob Marley

“This is the word of the Lord God to you all, a charge to you all in the presence of the living God; be patterns, be examples, in all countries, places, islands, nations, wherever you come; that your carriage and life may preach among all sorts of people, and to them; then you will come to walk cheerfully over the world, answering that of God in every one; whereby in them ye may be a blessing, and make the witness of God in them to bless you: then to the Lord God you will be a sweet savor, and a blessing.” ~ George Fox, Journals

How will we apply our GOD-centric loving response to our conversations with people from other religions? How will we speak to people from other religious traditions about our one good and fair God of love? Be not afraid for GOD-centric is an orientation to religion that embraces diversity as the foundation of our harmony. GOD-centric is not about the blending away of religious difference into a mushy and boring elevator music sameness. I'd like to teach the world to sing in a perfect harmony that involves different voices and instruments coming together to create exciting, vital, evolving music. The GOD-centric orchestra would include voices from Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and every other group or individual that raises its voice to our good and fair God of love. The instruments in the orchestra would include attention, celebration, compassion, contemplation, devotion, discernment, ecstasy, fellowship, gratitude, hope, joy, love, meditation, morality, peace, reverence, service, silence, simplicity, social justice, stewardship, surrender, transformation, and wonder. GOD-centric's “one love” springs from many sources which all move toward our one good and fair God of love. Our expressions of love will be varied but the aim of our love will be One.
