GOOD-centric Love for Animals

“As long as Man continues to be the ruthless destroyer of lower living beings, he will never know health or peace. For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love.”

~ Pythagoras

GOOD-centrics would extend love to non-humans even if love were the sole province of human beings. GOOD-centrics would do so because it helps our hearts to love and it hurts our hearts not to love. Philosopher Immanuel Kant opined: "He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.” Physician Albert Schweitzer agreed that our loving animals benefits us, too: “Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.”

GOOD-centrics would extend love to non-humans even if love were the sole province of human beings; but, it is not. Animals love. Animals grieve. Animals extend a helping hand or fin or wing or paw. As Sonny Curtis might sing, love is all around. Let's spread it far and wide!
