Thinking a Thought Whole

  I decided that I needed to gather more information and think some things through: "I do not lack the courage to think a thought whole." (Soren Kierkegaard, Fear and Trembling) It might strike you as odd, as it did me, that I had spent fourteen years practicing the presence of God and yet I had never really thought all that much about my Roman Catholic religion. Sure, I had been bothered by some things along the way but I quickly cast them aside and basked in the warmth of my relationship with God. To this day, I am grateful that I was raised Catholic and possess what Andrew Greeley has dubbed The Catholic Imagination though the last time I took the spiritual belief system selector on SelectSmart.com Roman Catholicism came in dead last.
